Knowledge is the engine of progress, playing a catalytic and guiding role in Romania’s sustainable social and economic development. In the context of this belief, the mission of SCDCB-Dancu is to preserve, generate and disseminate knowledge in its fields of expertise and to actively participate in the transfer of knowledge and the technologies generated by it to the local and national livestock entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In line with this mission, the overall objectives of SCDCB-Dancu are:
- To obtain results of competitive relevance at national and international level in basic, experimental, technological and applied research;
- To obtain results of competitive level and direct relevance to the economic and social environment.
- To act as a competent source of knowledge in the field of sustainable development, animal husbandry, biosecurity and food safety.
- To improve welfare standards in cattle, hygiene and stress reduction and the risk of occurrence and spread of certain diseases, by investigating the relationships between biosecurity, climate change and physiological or productive responses.
- Increase the number of high performance services offered to the local and national livestock business ecosystem in the field of sustainable development, animal husbandry, biosecurity and food safety.
- Development of future partnerships, growth and establishment of long-term synergies, as well as national and international collaborations, for the efficiency and “intelligent specialization” of the management of autochthonous and allochthonous cattle breeds with direct implications in the bioeconomy and research – development – innovation activities applied in modern zootechnics in the North-East development region of Romania.
- Optimisation of reproductive indices in dairy cows by promoting modern reproductive biotechnologies.
